Promote BARC!

The more groups and individuals that use BARC! the more useful it will become. We need your help to make sure that everyone knows about BARC! and takes advantage of the benefits it offers. Here are some ways that you can help to promote BARC!

Give out flyers promoting BARC!

Give out flyers promoting BARC! to friends, family, colleagues, people at events (and anywhere else that is relevant). Keep a stack of flyers visible at your workplace and post one on the wall. Download the BARC! flyer (you need the free Adobe Acrobat Reader to view this file), photocopy it and pass it around. You may wish to reduce the flyer to A5 to save on photocopying costs. Alternatively, just send me an email (admin@barc.org.au) containing your address and the number of flyers you would like and I will post them out to you. Make sure to let me know when you run out so we can send you more.

Add BARC! to your email signature

This is a great way of providing ongoing promotion for BARC! without having to do anything! Just modify your email signature to include something like this:

In November 2002, the BARC! (Brisbane Actionweb for Refugee Collaboration www.barc.org.au) website was launched. It is growing rapidly, and has become a powerful tool for connecting like-minded groups and individuals in the Brisbane region, including South East QLD and Northern NSW. Visit the BARC! website and join the BARC! e-list to keep informed of everything to do with refugees and asylum seekers in the Brisbane region.

Concerned individuals can use BARC! to find out about coming events, volunteer and employment opportunities, other help needed by refugee organisations, current campaigns and actions, gifts that help refugees, refugee organisations in their area, and to learn more about the situation of refugees and asylum seekers in Australia.

Organisations can use BARC! to promote events and campaigns, seek volunteers and other help, promote their organisation and tell people what they are doing, find out about useful resources, find out what others are doing, and to share resources and information. BARC! will provide a free webpage to any group and encourages other websites to use BARC! website content.
